Event Highlights (June 22, 2024)
Since it was a beginner-friendly event, we started by inviting an instructor from YONEX, a company well-known for its tennis equipment.
First, we did some warm-up exercises. We engaged in dynamic exercises and full-fledged training using the entire court.
The instructor provided detailed guidance on introducing and explaining rackets, assisting with racket selection, teaching how to grip and swing the racket, and how to hit the ball. We practiced the basics, engaged in training, and even tried some matches
The atmosphere was pleasant throughout, and we enjoyed tennis while taking appropriate breaks to prevent heatstroke. This time, we had all eight indoor courts entirely reserved for our use. The courts were air-conditioned, allowing us to practice in a cool environment without worrying about being watched.
In the evening, we had a fun social gathering! We deepened our connections with the friends we made through tennis.
Participant Feedback
The coach's teaching skills were excellent, and I had a very valuable and intensive experience! Some friends I invited to this workshop declined due to the participation fee, but I found it to be worth much more than the cost. The facilities were great, and the number of participants per coach was just right, providing a practice environment that was almost too good for beginners. The coach was also adept at handling left-handed players, allowing me to enjoy the session without any stress! I would love to participate again if I have the opportunity to receive such guidance in the future!
The coach was friendly and made the workshop enjoyable. The number of participants in the morning session was just right, allowing for ample use of the court.
From the application process to the event day, the organizers kept in frequent contact with each participant, which allowed me to spend the time leading up to the start without any worries. While it's easy to connect digitally these days, direct interaction with people is invaluable. It was a great way to build a network.
I had a fulfilling 3.5 hours, realizing the true essence of tennis! It was such a meaningful time that it made me want to attend a tennis school to improve my skills and enjoy life through tennis.
The instructors created an atmosphere that even those with no tennis experience could enjoy. The indoor venue was comfortable, and it was great to be able to socialize with other participants afterward, expanding my circle. For those who have dabbled in tennis before or used to play, this workshop was very fulfilling.
Tennis was just a "starting point" for me, but I realized that this group is really about gently encouraging those who haven't played tennis before and are looking to make gay friends or take their first steps towards it. The organizers’ focus on managing the event created an environment where there was less feeling of being left behind in terms of skill or communication. I also thought the personalities and teaching abilities of the coaches were wonderful. Since tennis involves both singles and doubles, pairing up inevitably happens in group activities like this, but the coaches handled the pairings quickly and efficiently, which spared participants from any awkwardness.
